Harrison Township built nearly 4,000 linear feet of a 12-inch PVC sanitary sewer line through one of the oldest portions of the township. This area suffered from chronic basement backups during times of intense rainfall. The new relief sewer captured over half of the flows from the existing sewers in this area and conveyed the sewage directly to the sanitary sewer interceptor. The result provided for increased carrying capacity and eliminated the sewer backups altogether.
